Why seek counselling?

The reasons why people seek counseling tend to be as varied as the people themselves. My clients come from all walks of life, ages and occupations. Most of us at sometime in our life will experience difficult times or feel unfulfilled. From childhood through late adulthood there are moments when we may feel that we need help with emotional stress or discomfort. When you are experiencing these types of problems, you may benefit from the assistance of an experienced, trained professional.

My counselling service offers you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment where you are free to express your thoughts and enable you to explore anything that is causing you concern.

Life experiences may be preventing you from moving forward towards leading a more fulfilled life. These problems might include present issues of bereavement, separation, anxiety and depression or traumatic experiences from the past, such as in childhood.

Others seek counselling to help with a general sensation that their lives are not quite right or as a way to discover meaning in their lives. Some clients wish to better the way they relate to people, increase their ability to express themselves, or simply undertake a form of personal development.

I am here to help you look at your life as a whole. From your past to where you are now, and where you want to be. My aim is to support you on your personal journey, allowing you the freedom to explore and reflect on your experiences. I want you to feel empowered to be in control of your own life.

Counselling is a collaborative effort between the counsellor and client. I am not here to give you advice, but to help you with your personal growth and development in ways that foster your interest and welfare.
