Psychotherapy
I offer Psychotherapy in Surrey and Hampshire. Psychotherapy is a successful way of providing a talking therapy to support an individual who may be experiencing personal problems including mental and emotional difficulties, that may be leading to imbalance in their life.
Psychotherapy offers the provision of a safe and confidential space, to promote the exploration of any issues and a greater understanding of them. As a result, this leads to the development of improved coping strategies in difficult times and enhancement of relationships.
With counselling support to make some positive changes in approach to life, it can promote a better ability to cope with things, healing, a new direction and by helping to restore balance.
What happens when you have Psychotherapy?
At Enlighten counselling I can offer you an Integrative Psychotherapy approach. I work from many different theories and offer several insightful approaches. This enables me to adapt my approach to suit you personally and to help you understand life situations better.
We will meet together in my confidential counselling room for an initial assessment appointment. This gives us both an opportunity to meet face to face in a non-judgemental environment and discuss any concerns you might have. We can explore together the best way to support your particular needs, by taking time to gather any information relating to your life and any issues you might feel benefit sharing in your therapy. It is important that you feel part of any decisions about your therapy and feel able to ask for and agree what you personally would like from it.
We will agree to start working together on a weekly basis, this will enable us to build a good therapeutic working relationship. Each counselling session will last for 50 minutes.
Together we can establish what you may need and identify areas that I can offer you support in and to promote change for the future.
We will work together using various therapeutic methods of psycho education and insightful exploration, such as shells, toys, Russian dolls, therapy cards.
The therapy will help you to understand your problems from a fresh perspective and support you to start to make any changes that feel comfortable and important for you to make in your life.
How long will I be in Psychotherapy?
Many clients ask how long their therapy will take?
There are many variables, dependant or different factors such as:
- Your expectations of what you would like to achieve from your therapy.
- The length of time you would like to work, whether in long -term or short- term therapy.
- If you would like to work in a solution focussed or time limited way, by working on a specific issue.
- If you would prefer to be in therapy longer to work on some deeper or longer standing problems.
- We will discuss how we are working together at various points throughout the therapy. This will ascertain that we are working in a way that is supporting your needs and if we need to change any aspect of our work together to meet your needs.
